Sicché types of questions: voice message answers

How did the need arise?

Sicché has been the first platform in the world to introduce the possibility of asking participants to answer questions with a voice message!

The idea to introduce this new feature was born from examining the trend -  the use of these grew so quickly that, according to WhatsApp's latest statistics, an average of 7 billion voice messages are recorded every day!!!

So, why not implement such a popular way of communicating within qualitative online projects?

How does voice message answer work on Sicché?

The way it works is very simple, after all, Sicché was designed with a "mobile first" approach. The respondent is asked to simply answer a specific question by recording a voice message from their phone (or from their computer) by clicking on the microphone icon, just like on WhatsApp or similar messaging APPs. Should the respondent refuse to activate the microphone (or not have one), the system automatically prompts the respondent to type their answer.

What are the advantages?

The advantages are many:

  • for the interviewee, sending the answer is quick, simple, immediate, easy wherever they are
  • the expression of oneself and one's thoughts is 'unfiltered': first impressions flow freely, the flow of thought is 'truer', the right hemisphere of the brain has free rein! 😉
  • on the researcher side, more complete answers are obtained, especially when a precise and detailed reconstruction of a process or an experience is required
  • artificial intelligence automatically converts the audio into text: the researcher can conveniently re-read the contents in writing (editable, highlightable and downloadable) just as if it were a classic open answer
  • each audio can be downloaded in .mp4 format to be added to the research report. Just think what an impact it would be for the end customer to hear the results directly from the voice of his or her consumers!

A question that by its very nature is usable for various types of studies, such as ethnographic research, to gather feedback on a direct experience such as a product tasting, or a purchase journey or even, the evaluation of a point of sale or shopping experience... So, what are you waiting for to try it out?
